About myself—-my name is Rose Angélica Arellano-Ramos.
I’m a 2nd generation latina, queer, 23 years young, student, community builder, activist, poet, writer, and an artist of various mediums. I’m being guided down a path. I have a deep trust that the Universe is leading me into becoming a certified yoga teacher so that I may continue to help others.
Growing up my parents didn’t have the money to pay for yoga classes. I learn a lot of self-hate towards my body, didn’t learn how to take care of it properly and was extremely self-destructive. Yoga is fairly new to me but has already transformed my life in many ways. I am learning how to love myself and my body through yoga.
Since I was a teenager, I’ve been online vlogging to thousands of people around the world, helping by giving advice and teaching people how love themselves while going through my own journey of self-love.
I am based in Oakland, California, United States.
What do I plan on doing with my certification?
I have a lot of plans for my yoga teacher certification.
I plan on benefitting those around me first; family, friends and my Bay Area communities. These minority communities have little access to yoga studios or affordable yoga classes. People around me are less active, more stressed, less healthy, and emotionally unstable. Yoga has taught me to be centered in my daily life.
I also plan on sharing various yoga routines with my community online via videos. I’ve got BIG dreams, you know. I travel every few years back home to Mexico. I plan on bringing my yoga knowledge to my family, friends and communities there as well. Where there is a need to bring peace of mind, I will be there and I will offer my practice to those who need it.
I intend to offer yoga to low-income people, people of color, young women and girls, queer people of all genders, mothers with children, couples and anyone who reaches out to me.
I want to connect to thousands more people with this practice.
I want to become a conscious person. Yoga is my salvation and one of my missions in life. My body is a temple. Yoga is a deep and profound practice that has allowed me to see the value of my light. Yoga makes me feel grounded like I’m a part of something bigger than myself-connected through breath and feeling present in my body. When I do yoga, I feel aligned with my purpose in life.
I am going to be taking a yoga teacher training program through Barefoot Yoga in Oakland, CA, USA. The cost is $2,450 for tuition, $1,200 for housing and lastly the additional fee that comes with using this website $255 totaling $3,905.
If I do not make the whole amount I will not be in a financial position to take this training.
Any extra money, over and above the goal will go towards other projects I am working on including building my own website, paintings, books I’m writing and intend to publish, as well as prints of my modeling and artwork.
What you get for helping!
For your generous donations, you will recieve a wide array of perks which could include the following; prints, photosets, a personalized video (advice, yoga, etc), or my prose/poetry writing upon request. I am infinitely gracious to have been lead to this website and I hope that I can meet my goal in time!
Other Ways You Can Help
Please donate what you can! $1, $3, $5, every little bit counts and means the world to me. Tell your family, friends, lovers, co-workers, anyone who might be interested in helping another person achieve one of their dreams.
Gracias for supporting me in prayer and thought. I feel the love from my WORLD communities! Send me love on all social networks! It’s much appreciated!

It’s so vital for people who deal with poverty, racism & sexism to have access to yoga. I can’t begin to describe how extreme stress gets when every day you worry about meeting your most basic needs. Levels of stress so bad you can’t contemplate tolerate it for long without a some form of breakdown become normal. Truly healing self-care is beyond vital, on so many levels … and often inaccessible to the people who most need it.
Yoga can be a real basis for healing not just our bodies - which can bear the brunt of our everyday struggles - but the intangible parts of ourselves. Parts we need to survive, the facets that are the soil that will grow the particular awesomeness only we can share with the world.
And, on a political note, we lack sustainable movements. I think the one of the only real ways to change this - and to bring vital energy to our efforts - is to integrate things that sustain us, like culture, healing modalities, and play.
It’s so badass & beautiful what you’re doing! :D

Her beauty cannot be measured with standards of a colonized mind."
