Obama Is On A Roll: →

mar-velez:

imaginarywallscollapse:

January 1: Obama makes a deal with Republicans on the Fiscal Cliff. The Bush Era tax cuts is reinstated, contradicting his campaign promise to make sure it ends. The Social Security payroll tax is allowed to expire costing the average American family $820 more on taxes. LGBTQ and AIDS/HIV programs will be allowed to expire in two months causing approx. 12,000 positive folks to be put on waiting lists for drug treatment. The proposed cuts could also interfere with the investigation and prosecution of hate crimes against LGBT people and hurt LGBT employment discrimination claims, limit the ability of the federal government to address the high rate of homelessness among LGBT youth and reduce funds for programming directed at LGBT health.

January 2Obama orders multiple drone strikes in North and South Waziristan killing at least 13 people, that number is expected to rise. The drones attacked a house killing 4 people. Three people were killed and several others injured in a drone attack in the Mubarak Shahi village in North Waziristan tribal region’s Mir Ali Tehsil. The US drone targeted a vehicle with two missiles, and then fired another two missiles when rescuers gathered at the site to carry the bodies and the injured.

Obama wins a court case against ACLU and the New York Times. The court allows his administration to target American citizens with drones strikeswhile prohibing the public from gaining any details via FIOA requests.

January 3Obama signs the NDAA again despite empty treats the veto it. The NDAA for Fiscal Year 2013 allows him to indefinitely detain American citizens without trial and prohibits him from closing Guantanamo Bay.

fuck.

Farm Bill gives Monsanto unbelievable powers over US food supplyDecember 30, 2012
While you are distracted by the horror show of the Fiscal Cliff, Congress is trying to slip by another agricultural disaster -The Farm Bill. The greatest benefit of this bill goes to the Monsanto corporation -you know the chemical bio-ag company that has been charged with piracy in India, banned in South America and Europe and who have proven to be a criminal enterprise.
The large seed manipulator Monsanto spent $7 million on this bill alone to grant itself unheard of power and authority over GMO seed in the US food supply.
Monsanto has always had the intention of complete domination of the food supply over governments, over people and all over the globe.
That is a monopoly by a mega corporation on the very food that keeps humanity alive. They want power and they want it now.
GMO seed contains pesticides -right in the seed germ, and has caused major agricultural damage in many country’s around the world, so much damage that many countries have banned Monsanto from growing any seed on their land. In India, cotton farmers lost everything to Monsanto who promised higher yields, but when crops failed over 100,000 farmers committed suicide over their losses.
While the media is concentrating on just one aspect of the Farm Bill, which is the rise in milk prices, they are ignoring the very dangerous parts.
Who Wrote This Bill and Who Benefits
The Chairman of the Farm Bill is none other than Frank D. Lucas of Oklahoma who received large cash donations to his election campaign.
”The power of Monsanto can be seen through its contributions to Rep. Frank D. Lucas, who’s received the most money so far from Monsanto. Lucas just happens to be chairman of the House Agriculture Committee, through which every farm-related piece of legislation must pass. But he’s certainly not the only one wheel getting greased by this biotech giant,” said Dr. Mercola.
Booby Trapped Farm Bill Gives Monsanto Unprecedented Powers
This bill is booby trapped with unheard of powers given to Monsanto the Genetically Modified Seed company, which deregulates their product.
a) The bill disregards any study on pesticide seeds made by Monsanto and accelerates their products to the marketplace.
b) Unrestricted GMO growing which will invade organic farms completely.
c) Monsanto will own the master seeds to the US food supply giving the corporation a complete monopoly and power over government officials.
d) The Farm Bill states that Environmental Laws do not apply to their products even though GMO plants contain pesticides in the seed germ, and require much more pesticide applied, that run off into the water table will be allowed.
e) The bill gives the US Dept of Agriculture a Nazi like power and authority on GMO crops  over any group or agency. In essence this gives the USDA more power and authority.
f) Deadlines on approvals are enforced and make it impossible to study any new Monsanto products or GMO seeds, if the USDA cannot approve the GMO product it will AUTOMATICALLY BE APPROVED.
Whomever wrote this bill was a big-ag corporate puppet for Monsanto and the deep cuts to Food Stamp recipients will leaving people starving in the street hitting the poor with a massive and deadly attack on the very poor.
Passing this bill takes the authority out of the hands of the USDA and gives it to a very powerful and dangerous Corporation that is entirely built around selling pesticides. Like Dow Chemicals, Monsanto is attempting to insert pesticides into plant seeds claiming they need less pesticide spraying which is a lie. Studies have found GMO plants need “more” not less pesticide spray and Monsanto profits soar because they also own patents on Round Up.
The deregulating of Monsanto GMO seed means that no organic farmer can file a lawsuit against Monsanto ever again.
The deregulation of Monsanto GMO means the corporation will control the US food supply completely and totally.
The Farm Bill Deregulation of Monsanto and GMO plants means Americans will be swallowing more pesticides than every before making them sicker and more subjected to diseases.

"The widespread abuse of prisoners is a virtually foolproof indication that politicians are trying to impose a system—whether political, religious or economic—that is rejected by large numbers of the people they are ruling. Just as ecologists define ecosystems by the presence of certain “indicator species” of plants and birds, torture is an indicator species of a regime that is engaged in a deeply anti-democratic project, even if that regime happens to have come to power through elections."

golden dawn in Greece has pretty much infiltrated the government and the police forces so it’s like that’s been a slow process, and they probably had to keep quiet about their views as they slowly took over. it’s similar to the “ghost skins” thing that recently came out in the u.s., which are white supremacists that don’t don the usual skinhead look etc. and try to blend into society and get into government, military, police, and other types of positions that put them in power and in easy access to weapons and professional combat training.

The Golden Dawn also is in Italy now.

It’s frightening.

It's Official: Obama Has Deported More Than A Million Undocumented Immigrants →

sinidentidades:

On September 9, I wrote that the Obama administration, based on statistics from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, was nearing its millionth deportation. It seems I was only about three days off. According to Reuters, the administration hit that milestone on September 12. How does that compare with Obama’s predecessor, George W. Bush? The answer, if you’ve been hearing Republicans accuse Obama of “backdoor amnesty” and holding the border hostage, may surprise you.

The Obama administration had deported about 1.06 million as of September 12, against 1.57 million in Bush’s two full presidential terms.

That’s right, Obama is on the verge of deporting more undocumented immigrants in a single term than Bush did his full eight years in office.

Despite the administration’s stated focus on unauthorized immigrants with criminal records, more than half of those deported had no criminal records, 54 percent to 46 percent. But that number doesn’t convey what percentage of removals categorized as criminal include serious or violent offenses as opposed to minor ones.

"

Whatever else one wants to say, the US is a country that, for more than a decade, has loudly and continuously declared itself to be a “nation at war”. It’s not “at war” in any one county, but in many countries around the globe.

In the last four years alone, it has used drones to end people’s lives in six predominantly Muslim country (probably more). Under its Nobel Peace Prize-winning leader, it has repeatedly wiped out entire families (including just this week), slaughtered dozens of children at a time, targeted and killed people rescuing and grieving its victims, and either deliberately or recklessly dropped bombs on teenagers (including its own citizens), then justified it with the most foul and morally deranged rationale.

It embraces and props up the world’s most repressive tyrants. It isolates itself from the world and embraces blatant double standards in order to enable the worst behavior of its client states. It continues to maintain a global network of prisons where people are kept indefinitely in cages with no charges. It exempts itself and its leaders from the international institutions of justice while demanding that the leaders of other, less powerful states be punished there. And it is currently in the process of suffocating a nation of 75 million people with an increasingly sadistic sanctions regime, while proudly boasting about it and threatening more.

It spent years imprisoning even Muslim journalists with no charges. And then there’s that little fact about how, less than a decade ago, it created a worldwide torture regime and then launched an aggressive war that destroyed a nation of 26 million people, one that led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent human beings.

Those are all just facts. And while there is no shortage of Americans willing to step up and dutifully justify some or all of those acts, it’s so astonishing to watch people express surprise and bewilderment and anger when they discover that this behavior causes people in the world to intensely dislike the United States.

If you want your country to rule the world as an aggressive and militaristic empire, then accept the inevitable consequence of that: that there will be huge numbers of people in the world who resent and even hate your country for that behavior. Don’t cheer while your country constantly kills, invades, occupies, and dominates the internal affairs of countless other nations - and then expect to be liked. Immorality aside, producing this reaction is one reason not to do such things.

Anti-NDAA Movement begins in Los Angeles
The LA v. NDAA coalition has been working for months to bring the anti-NDAA movement to the City of Los Angeles, and now have released a petition to demand the City Council to pass a resolution of non-compliance against the “due process”-destroying NDAA 2012.
(For more information about the NDAA, check out this article from Young Americans for Liberty and then head over to sign the petition.)
The coalition is an amazing collaboration of different groups spanning different ideologies from Occupy Los Angeles and the ACLU, to the Republican Liberty Caucus and the Tenth Amendment Center, as well as the Bill of Rights Defense Committee and antiwar organizations like Come Home America and Antiwar.com. Religious groups include the Islamic Shura Council, the Council on American-Islamic Relations and Interfaith Communities United for Justice and Peace. Young Americans for Liberty is also represented, though at the individual level with volunteers being part of the coalition.
This is decidedly an anti-partisan coalition to combat the bipartisan consensus in the rule of law abrogating NDAA 2012.
Los Angeles is a very important city politically in this struggle against the NDAA 2012. If we succeed, the rest of Southern California will follow. Once we win Southern California, the rest of California will most likely follow. Nationally, that means we will have 55 lawmakers in Congress who will have no choice but follow the will of the voters of California.
Please take a time to support our efforts.
Please help us bring this message to the City of Los Angeles to combat NDAA 2012.

Fight the NDAA, sign this petition, share it & talk to people about the NDAA. The only reason there isn’t widespread outrage and political pressure against the NDAA is because the corporate media does not talk about it. Plan direct actions against the NDAA, share posts about the NDAA, support fights against it, etc.

"Why is it that the capitalist West has accumulated more resources than human history has ever witnessed, yet appears powerless to overcome poverty, starvation, exploitation, and inequality? What are the mechanisms by which affluence for a minority seems to breed hardship and indignity for the many? Why does private wealth seem to go hand in hand with public squalor? Is it, as the good-hearted liberal reformist suggests, that we have simply not got around to mopping up these pockets of human misery, but shall do so in the fullness of time [perhaps in Obama’s second term]? Or is it more plausible to maintain that there is something in the nature of capitalism itself which generates deprivation and inequality…?"

The protestors filled three floors of the rotunda inside the Capitol building. They also made their presence known in and around the Romney Building. They could be heard chanting “Hey he, ho ho, right-to-work has got to go” as they banged on railings inside the Capitol. Michigan State Police arrested at least three of the protestors and pepper sprayed a handful of others.

Did you know that there was a successful peaceful revolution in Iceland? It’s true. But you wouldn’t know from watching TV.
In 2008, the people of Iceland forced their prime minister and his whole government to resign. Next, they nationalized the banks & opted not to pay back the fake debt created by foreign bankers. Next, they created a public assembly to rewrite their constitution. And all of this in a peaceful way.
The people of Iceland have proven to the world that there is a way to dismantle the system while preserving peace & democracy.
